Reverend Melinda Harwood, CSD, ACC

Melinda brings three decades of spiritual and Christian leadership to the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Her pastoral and worship education was completed at St Paul School of Theology. Her Spiritual Direction certification is through Souljourners, an ecumenical course of study offered at Mount St. Scholastica at the Benedictine Sophia Center in Atchison, Kansas. Her coaching credential is through the International Federation of Coaches via Coaching 4 Clergy sponsored by the United Methodist General Board of Higher Education where she is listed as a coach in the 

John Cheffey, Choir Director

John gives lovingly of his musical talent every Sunday leading the OUMC church choir. He has a degree in Music Education and currently works in manufacturing management.

Fofo (Tai-Jung) Jackson, Pianist

A native of Taiwan, Dr. Jackson has performed actively as a soloist and chamber musician in several cities around the world with various musical groups, including Shanghai, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Taipei, New York City, Kansas City, Lawrence, Princeton, Appleton, WI, and Cortona, Italy. Dr. Jackson has been honored to perform at many prestigious venues both locally and internationally, including the Tainai National University of the Arts in Taiwan, and the University of Kansas. Informally, Dr. Jackson has played and taught at multiple high schools, bookstores, and coffee shops in Kansas with the intent of reaching a wider audience. 

Dr. Jackson began playing piano at the age of six. She received Doctoral of Musical Arts in percussion performance from Kansas State University. Mrs. Jackson received her Master's of Music with honors from New York University; studying under Dr. Michael Compitello, Ji-Hye Jung, Jonathan Haas, Simon Boyer, James Saporito, and Josh Quillen.  Dr. Jackson received her Bachelor's in Music by studying Chinese Music from Tainai National University of the Arts in Taiwan, studying under Shih Tehwa.  She is currently a faculty member in Culture House, offering piano and percussion lesson; freelancing around Kansas City area and performing piano during Sunday services at both the First United Methodist Church of Oskaloosa, and the Easton United Methodist Church.
